Saw some flowers on the way home from work yesterday so I figured I had to take some time today to get out there and take some photos. Lighting was a little harsh being midday but it is still a spectacular sight to take in. Usually these hills are completely brown so this is a nice change.

Plus it was some perfect weather for a short drive anyways. And it gave me a reason to wash the car first.

Awesome pictures. I like the look of the roof rack mounts on your car - they look like little horn stubs :)

Haha thanks, im glad the stubs didnt end up looking ridiculous. Leaving the roof rack on is bad for gas mileage and is a little noisy on windy days so its nice being able to easily remove it when not skiing. My biggest concern of putting a roof rack on a sedan was that it might look wonky but being a Subaru, it still seems appropriate. And the functionality is more important than the look anyways.

Yeah know what you mean. For the longest time I hated how the current generation Outback has those massive fat roof rails going along the sides. Then my wife bought one and I learned that the cross bars are actually built in to the car and fold away in to those blocks when not in use. Still think it looks horrible but appreciate the quick and easy set up and ability to stow away when not in use.

This is the greenest I’ve seen it since moving here. Even Mt. Diablo is covered is new vegetation, when I’ve only previously seen it in various shades of brown and yellow.

On top of that, there’s a very real chance that I will be able to spend July 4th weekend in South Lake Tahoe and do some snowboarding.

That isnt just a chance, its a near guarantee that Squaw and Mammoth will be open till at least July 4th! If it is anything like two years ago, an August closing date is pretty likely.

I was barely around last winter due to work travel so it’s a real treat to see all of this green right now.
